Hives influenced by seminal German dance band

Swedish rockers The Hives have revealed that one of their biggest influences is German dance band Kraftwerk.

“Devo and Kraftwerk and, to some extent, even The Stooges have that nagging beat, but it's kind of mechanical and with guitars,” guitarist Nicholaus Arson explains. “That more mechanical (sound) is kind of what we wanted to achieve on this record.”
