White insecure about band's success
The White Stripes best-selling albums and Grammy award victories have not helped frontman Jack White overcome his insecurities about the band's success.
The singer complains that the music he makes - with his bandmate Meg White - is too bland and basic to warrant their overwhelming popularity.
He explains, "I don't know why it works on the radio or on MTV or on a stage in front of 80,000 people.
"It seems like there should be more going on, there should be these anthems."
