Police to probe Big Brother brawl

Police today launched an investigation into last night’s drunken brawl in the Big Brother house.

Officers from Hertfordshire Constabulary were called to the house in the early hours after receiving calls from horrified viewers.

They left after speaking to members of the production team but have requested a tape of last night’s events, including the fight between Emma and Victor.

After viewing the tapes they will decide if any charges should be brought against the housemates.

A police spokeswoman said: ``Following a number of calls from members of the public regarding an alleged incident in the Big Brother house last night, Herts Constabulary can confirm it will be obtaining a videotape of the incident later today.

“Officers are currently liaising with members of the Big Brother production team to see what further action needs to be taken.”

Violence erupted in the house in the early hours of this morning following Michelle and Emma’s return from the bedsit.

Emma and Victor had to be pulled apart by other housemates as they screamed abuse at one another and threatened to come to blows.

Jason clashed with Marco and threatened to rip his head off, while Vanessa squared up to Nadia.

As the situation spiralled out of control, panicked Big Brother bosses sent in security guards to separate the housemates for their own safety.

Channel 4 cut the live feed to the house between 2am and 3am.

Two police officers arrived at 3am to investigate the fracas.

A Big Brother spokeswoman said: “Police arrived on site and spoke to the production team. They have requested a tape of the programme.

“Obviously we will co-operate with the police and help with any inquiries.”
