Amanda Holden play to close two months early
Thoroughly Modern Millie, starring Amanda Holden, is to close early due to poor ticket sales.
The star got good reviews for her role in the show and earned an Olivier Award nomination but the musical failed to shift enough tickets and will close on June 26, two months early.
Amanda has been accused of taking too much time off and leaving her understudy to fill the role.
An insider said: "Amanda Holden has star billing and that's who audiences want to pay and see."
Since the show opened at the Shaftesbury Theatre in London in October, the actress has taken sunshine breaks in Spain and South Africa with boyfriend Chris Hughes and taken days off to film the new series of Cutting It.
She was also forced to take two weeks off when she was admitted to hospital with a kidney infection.
