Romantic film sweeps Bollywood awards

Kal Ho Naa Ho, a romantic drama starring Bollywood heart-throb Shah Rukh Khan, scooped eight honours at the International Indian Film Awards, the subcontinent’s version of the Oscars, in Singapore.

No other film won more than two honours at the event. But Shah Rukh lost out in the leading actor category to Hritik Roshan, who won for science fiction movie Koi Mil Gaya, directed by the movie’s other winner of the night – Rakesh Roshan.
