Battle of the teen divas
Teen star Lindsay Lohan knows a little bit about the kind of schoolgirl nastiness that goes on in Mean Girls, her new film which opened number one in the US box office at the weekend, taking more than £16m (€23.8m).
Lohan, best known for starring roles in the remake of Parent Trap and, more recently, Freaky Friday, had her own catfight with rival teen queen Hilary Duff.
They fell out over a mutual boyfriend, Aaron Carter, brother of Backbeat Boy Nick, and had a verbal squabble at the premiere of Duff’s latest film, Cheaper by the Dozen. The actresses called a truce a couple of weeks ago.
Mean Girls, which has Lohan battling against backbiting and bitchiness in high school, beat Denzel Washington’s Man on Fire into second place. One of Lohan’s tips for avoiding trouble: Don’t spread nasty gossip.
