Danish crown Prince Frederik and his Australian fiancee Mary Donaldson will get a 24-piece dinnerware as a wedding gift with motifs from fairytales by Hans Christian Andersen, designed by Lin Utzon, the daughter of the Danish architect who designed Sydney’s famed Opera House.

Danish crown Prince Frederik and his Australian fiancee Mary Donaldson will get a 24-piece dinnerware as a wedding gift with motifs from fairytales by Hans Christian Andersen, designed by Lin Utzon, the daughter of the Danish architect who designed Sydney’s famed Opera House.

Organisers of the 2005 festivities marking Andersen’s bicentennial said today the complete Hans Christian Andersen porcelain set with six fairytale motifs will be given to the newlyweds.

Frederik and Donaldson will exchange vows on May 14 at Copenhagen’s Lutheran cathedral. The future Crown Princess Mary will become the first Australian woman to stand in line to become queen.
