AUSTRALIAN Mary Donaldson married Danish Crown Prince Frederik yesterday in a fairytale wedding out of any of the stories written by Hans Christian Andersen.

Months of planning, hundreds of guests and thousands of police in the streets will give way to a royal wedding redolent of the fairy tales written by Denmark’s Hans Christian Andersen.

Danish crown Prince Frederik and his Australian fiancee Mary Donaldson will get a 24-piece dinnerware as a wedding gift with motifs from fairytales by Hans Christian Andersen, designed by Lin Utzon, the daughter of the Danish architect who designed Sydney’s famed Opera House.

THE heir to the Danish throne is to marry an Australian, the royal palace in Copenhagen announced yesterday.
