Kill Bill Vol 2 is full of colourful flair
Kill Bill Vol 2
Quentin Tarantino
Uma Thurman, Daryl Hannah, David Carradine, Michael Madsen
18.
In a film which is exactly the same as the original of what looks like developing into a long-running saga - Tarantino is working on two more - Thurman returns as the revenge-driven Bride; and it's still a lot of fun.
In a bloody and violent sort of way.
These films are turning into a most curious sequence, there is a great deal more to them than merely the bloodbath left behind by the Bride after her wedding day was reduced to a shambles. What violence there is - quite a lot, actually - is of the cartoon variety and Thurman herself suffers a multitude of misfortunes in the course of her cutting a dash, literally.
There are many excellent set-piece moments and the entire film is full of colourful flair. It is, too, the sort of film which indicates that everyone connected with it enjoyed every manic moment.
Thurman is outstanding; Hannah and Madsen contribute much to the overall enjoyment, if you can get along with the madness being displayed on screen.
