Brown's troubles continue as he faces family court

Singer Bobby Brown has appeared before a family court judge after paying child support payments he owed the mother of two of his children.

Family Court Judge Paula Carey ordered Brown on Friday to immediately apply for a life insurance policy to benefit the children, aged 12 and 14, and also gave him 90 days to establish an educational trust fund for them.

Brown had agreed to the life insurance policy and the education fund 10 years ago, but had never followed through on them.

The judge had found Brown in contempt of court on Wednesday and ordered him jailed until he could come up with the money.

He was released on Thursday after spending a night behind bars.

Brown, who is married to pop star Whitney Houston, had testified that he was unable to pay the child support for the children he had fathered with Kim Ward, who filed the paternity claim.
