Passion soundtrack a surprise success

The success of Mel Gibson's new film The Passion Of The Christ continues - and it’s not just the film itself that’s making money. The mainly instrumental soundtrack has already been selling out across America.

Fifty thousand CDs have been sold so far. Although that doesn’t sound like a blockbuster number, it’s huge for soundtracks. Only two others: Star Wars Episode 1: the Phantom Menace and Episode II Attack Of the Clones have sold more in the first week they’ve been out.
