Crawford returns to West End stage

Actor Michael Crawford is making his return to the West End after 18 years in the new Andrew Lloyd Webber musical The Woman in White.

The actor will appear in an adaptation of Wilkie Collins’ Victorian thriller.

Olivier Award-winner Maria Friedman will take the lead role as Marian.

Crawford is taking a supporting role as the villainous Count Fosco.

His last West End appearance was in Lloyd Webber’s Phantom of the Opera in 1986.

The Woman in White, with an original score by Lloyd Webber and directed by Trevor Nunn, opens at the Palace Theatre in September.
