Manics to play Isle of Wight festival

The Manic Street Preachers are to play this year’s Isle Of Wight festival.

They will perform as special guests of headline act The Who on Saturday June 12.

Stereophonics and David Bowie have already been confirmed to play the three-day event in Newport.

The legendary Isle Of Wight festival was revived in 2002 after a 32-year absence.

During the 1960s it played host to the likes of Bob Dylan, The Doors and Joni Mitchell. Jimi Hendrix famously appeared there in 1970.
