'Good idea not to put Jen on poster': Ben

Ben Affleck thinks it's was a good idea that J Lo’s appearance in the new movie Jersey Girl has been downplayed by the producers.

The diva only appears in the film for 15 minutes. Sceptics believe the decision to leave her off the movie posters and ads by Miramax was an attempt to distance Jersey Girl from Ben and Jen’s first movie collaboration, the disastrous Gigli.

But Affleck insists the idea not to advertise his girlfriend's bit part was the right one.

He said: "To sell Jennifer on Jersey Girl would have been disingenuous. She's in the first 15 minutes of the movie, a cameo.

"It's actually more honest, and I think it makes everybody more comfortable at this point to make it about what it is - a father and his daughter."
