New album for Alanis in the New Year

Alanis Morissette has announced she will release her new album So-Called Chaos early next year.

She is currently putting the finishing touches to the follow-up to last year's Under Rug Swept in a Los Angeles recording studio.

One of the tracks is about letting long-standing grudges go, while another, called Knees of My Bees, is dedicated to her boyfriend of more than a year.

"I started writing on and off this summer very reticently," she told Rolling Stone magazine.

"I wrote a couple of songs, ventured away from the studio, then ventured back in. By the fall I realised I had enough songs that could make a record."

So-Called Chaos will be released in February.
