I'm still wild and sexy, says Angelina

Angelina Jolie, who stars as action heroine Lara Croft said today that she is just as “wild and sexy” as ever, even though she spends much of her time with politicians as a UN goodwill ambassador.

Jolie took on the ambassador role two years ago and has travelled the world, visiting government leaders and dignitaries.

But the job does not mean she cannot still be sexy, she said.

“A journalist asked me the other day if I was still a sexual person,” she said.

“As if you can’t be a humanitarian and sexual.

“Well, I want you to know I am exactly the same person I was before I became a goodwill ambassador for the UN.

“I’m still a person of extreme emotion. I’m still wild and sexy.”

She told New York Post gossip columnist Liz Smith: “Fame and money and recognition as an artist are all good things. But they do not fulfil you.

“I am not just an actor. I am a human being, and a woman.” Jolie was asked to be an ambassador for the UN’s High Commissioner for Refugees and went on her first trip with the agency in 2001.

She has visited refugees in Kosovo and Chechnya.

She said she was so surprised when the UN asked her to perform the role, she said: “Are you kidding? Are you aware of my image?”

This week’s New York premiere of Jolie’s new film, Beyond Borders, raised more than $100,000 (€84,000) for the agency.
