Woody promises drama in tell-all book

Woody Allen promises that the autobiography he plans to write will be “full of fascinating and juicy real life dramas and conflicts, some more dramatic than any film I can make”.

In his 12-page book proposal to publishers, some of which is reprinted in the New York Post, he says he will detail his life from his colourful childhood in Brooklyn through his 50-year showbusiness career.

He was also detail his relationships with the likes of Diane Keaton, Mia Farrow, Soon-Yi Previn and former business partner Jean Doumanian.

But, he points out: “The drawback is that it would take me between six months and a year to really do a fine job and it’s hard to imagine there’s enough money out there to make me take the time away from film or theatre to do it.”

He is believed to want at least €8m for the book.
