Depardieu's son deepens rift with father

French actor Gerard Depardieu's son Guillaume has slammed his father after the French star severed ties with him recently.

The 32-year-old, who has been described as "difficult" and "incorrigible", was arrested in the summer for firing a gun at a bar patron who mocked his clothing. He was given a nine month prison sentence last week.

It was after this incident his famous father cut off all contact with his troubled son. But Guillaume is not taking the rejection lying down.

He says, "Gerard Depardieu is a coward, a cheater and lazy. He's the only person I know who lies to his own analyst. Gerard Depardieu is obsessed with the desire to be loved and the need for money. The only thing we have in common is our demons."
