Texas to play rare London gig

Texas are to play a rare London concert when they perform at the Astoria's G-A-Y nightclub on September 27.

The band release a new single, Carnival Girl featuring Kardinal Offishall, on October 6.

Their new album, Careful What You Wish For, is due out on October 20.

The album is the first from the Glasgow band since 2000's Greatest Hits CD.

After its release frontwoman Sharleen Spiteri took two years off during which time she gave birth in 2002 to her first child, daughter, Misty Kyd, to longtime boyfriend Ashley Heath.
