Jackass boys serve up a load of tripe
Jackass: The Movie, the big-screen version of the popular MTV show, is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to take a dip in the shallow end of the gene pool.
This crude, nasty piece of work has its funny moments, but can you really call watching a guy taking a dump in a display toilet in a shop entertainment?
Johnny Knoxville and his drinking buddies get their thrills out of playing practical jokes on unsuspecting bystanders.
The fact that these guys find it amusing to humiliate innocents, and then make a decent living out of broadcasting that humiliation, is a frightening social commentary.
The real jackasses must surely be the suckers who pay their hard-earned to watch this tripe.
If an evening of watching frat boys playing demolition derby with golf carts, rollerskating in the back of a speeding van, crashing wheelchairs, firing bottle rockets from their asses, giving themselves paper cuts, is your kind of thing, then this is just the ticket for you.
If, however, you fancy retaining some semblance of dignity, then give this one a miss.
