Crowe baby delays film production
Russell Crowe’s impending fatherhood has delayed production on Cinderella Man, the Depression-era boxing drama in which he is due to star with Renee Zellweger.
Filming was due to begin in January but has now been pushed back until March because Crowe’s wife, singer-songwriter Danielle Spencer, is expecting their first child early next year.
Crowe, 32, who has known Danielle since 1990, has reportedly told executives at Universal and Imagine Entertainment that he does not want to be working when she gives birth.
He has also hinted he may not be working so hard after the birth, either.
“It will be hard to find reasons to work once the baby is here,” Crowe tells USA Today.
“I’ve told Danielle, ‘Write your next album now, so you can tour after you’ve given birth and I’ll stay home.’
“My agent in America is nervous about that, I think.”
