Costner turns nose up at cosmetic surgery
Kevin Costner spurns the idea of cosmetic surgery and is happy to show the wrinkles on his face and the grey in his hair in his latest film, the Open Range.
“In this life you never say never but I never felt the need for plastic surgery,” he tells USA Today. “People have certain feelings and mine don’t run in how I look. I have my own demons, but they’re not that.”
He directed Open Range and also stars in it with Robert Duvall and Annette Bening. The men play two older, cattle-driving cowboys who battle nature’s elements and a dishonest lawman.
Costner, 49, who has not been in a hit film since Tin Cup in 1996, admitted: “I do feel out of step with conventional filmmaking. I don’t care so much about the box office but I do have the ability to pull off a good movie that can last 10 years on the shelf. So the things that drive me I know are out of step. I get it. I know that.”
