Clint back in cop role

Blood Work stars Clint Eastwood as an FBI profiler Terry McCaleb who had to retire after having a heart attack while chasing the Code Killer.

Two months after having a heart transplant, McCaleb is tracked down by Graciela Rivers (Wanda De Jesus) who tells him he was given her dead sister’s heart and she wants him to find her killer. Despite his ill health he just can’t say no.

With the help of cop friends, a boat-bum neighbour (Jeff Daniels) and an old lover (Tina Lifford) McCaleb discovers a connection between two seemingly random murders: The victims were both organ donors and both had his own rare blood type. The first died at the scene, the second was Graciela’s sister. The fact that her heart beats in his chest is no coincidence.

This is not a conventional mystery but more of a character study of a cop who refuses to retire peacefully and persists doggedly in outsmarting the LAPD officials.
