Popstars go behind the camera for video auditions

Liberty X are launching a Popstars-style hunt to find the stars of their latest video.

Liberty X are launching a Popstars-style hunt to find the stars of their latest video.

Judges will choose the 10 most talented performers to appear in the video for the new single, Jumpin’.

The chart-topping band were discovered themselves after auditioning for ITV1’s reality show Popstars.

They were dubbed “Popstars rejects” after failing to make the final five but ended up far more successful than winners Hear’say.

Now they want to use the same process to audition stars for their new video.

Hopefuls will be asked to sing and dance on stage in front of the band, whose hits include Just A Little and Thinking It Over.

Band member Tony said: “I still remember the nerves I got auditioning in front of the TV cameras. It’ll be weird being on the other side for a change but at least we’ll appreciate what they’re going through.”

The competition is sponsored by video mobile phone company 3 and entry is through participating mobile phone retailers across Britain.

Entrants, who must be over 18, will be asked to record a video explaining why they have “star quality”.

They will be whittled down to 175, and 50 of those will be chosen for the final audition in front of Liberty X.
