Gay dating show to air on US TV
Television’s first prime time reality dating series featuring gay men goes on the air in American this summer.
Boy Meets Boy will feature an eligible man looking for love in a pool of 15 potential mates. But in a twist, some of the suitors will actually be heterosexual men who were paid by the programme to pretend to be gay - unbeknownst to the eligible bachelor.
“I think this will be truly groundbreaking television, co-creator Douglas Ross told Daily Variety.
“One of the reasons we decided to take the basic dating format and throw in this twist is that we wanted the show to appeal to a broader audience.”
Already, the Traditional Values Coalition plans to alert its 43,000 member churches to protest against the series, said Andrea Lafferty, the group’s executive director. “Clearly, they have hit a new low,” she said.
