Seven remain in Celebrity challenge
Just seven celebrity campers remain in the Australian jungle today as they waited to find out who would follow soap actor Chris Bisson back to civilisation.
The former Coronation Street star was booted out of Iâm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! following a close public vote, becoming the third to leave since the ITV1 show started over a week ago.
The remaining contestants were left âdazed and confusedâ by his exit, which followed the departure of weathergirl Sian Lloyd and ex-EastEnder Danniella Westbrook.
Speaking after he left, model Catalina said the camp had been shocked that Chris had left, adding: âWe donât know how the voting is working.â
After leaving the basic jungle dwelling that has been his home for nearly two weeks, Chris told Ant and Dec the experience had been a lot harder than he had anticipated.
âIt was hard and the first week was really hard just because thereâs no food - just getting used to it, no toxins, no tea, no coffee, no booze ... your whole body changes and it hurts,â he said.
The actor said the so-called âcliqueâ in the group between Antony Worrall Thompson, Phil Tufnell and Linda Barker did not bother him.
âIt wasnât an issue for me because I spoke to them all individually.
âI do see them being good friends but I get on with them all ... they didnât make me feel not part of the group,â he said.
But he did accept that Cat was prone to mood swings.
âShe changes from hour to hour. Sheâs very changeable. Sheâs great one minute and then the next she can be a bit off with you,â he said.
Earlier in the show there was more drama involving food when TV bosses took away two of the meals earned by singer Toyah Willcox in her Bushtucker trial after Cat and Linda staged a demo on one of the walkways leading out of camp.
The pair demanded âsweet thingsâ for the group, but after a short sit-down protest returned to a less-than-impressed camp.
Chef Antony, who earlier in the week also confronted programme-makers in an attempt to get cigarettes, said: âYou didnât stand your ground long enough. There was a little bit of rain and you thought, âWeâll have to come backâ.â
Pouting prima donna Cat remained unremorseful, saying of the escape bid: âItâs amazing how much attention two people can get.
âThe whole world revolved around us for a moment. I felt cared about and special.â
The catwalk star, who has proved unpopular with viewers of the ITV1 show after on-screen comments have made her seem two-faced, also revealed her indecisiveness.
In her recorded pleas for votes, Cat first said she hated life in camp, only to reverse her opinion later to say she loved it.
In her first appeal she said: âI hate it in here. Iâd like to go because itâs got down to everyone talking about footie and Iâm not interested.
âYou may miss me flashing around in a bikini but thatâs about it â and you can see that in the magazines. So please vote me out.â
But in a miraculous turnaround, the model goes on to say: âPlease vote for me because I love it here!
âThe others all want to see their families and I donât so youâd be doing everyone a really big favour by voting for me.â
For her Bushtucker Trial, Toyah was made to forage around in a stinking bog, the contents of which had been fermenting for a week, to find the eight stars, each representing a meal for the group.
The safety supervisor told the nervous star that the swamp was not toxic, but added: âIf you swallow it, you will vomit on the spot.â
In the swamp, Toyah cried: âItâs like vegetation, death, rot and decay. Itâs like the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Itâs hell, before emerging with eight stars.
Today Linda will face the Terror in the Trees task, where she will have to fish the stars out of bowls of creepy-crawlies suspended in the branches.
