Cult classic to ride again

The 1969 cult classic Easy Rider, which starred Peter Fonda, Dennis Hopper and Jack Nicholson is riding again.

The low-budget tale of two motorcyclists searching for the real America is being rewritten and updated, reports Daily Variety.

No stars have yet been announced for the project and the producers are not yet talking about how the script will tackle the dated storyline which featured alienated youths and drugs.

“The times are similar,” co-producer Conroy Kanter tells Variety, “and our story and its characters will tell what freedom means today.”
