Ferry's marriage ends in divorce
Rock star Bryan Ferry today divorced his wife Lucy.
The Roxy Music frontman was granted a decree nisi by District Judge Berry at the High Court Family Division in central London on the grounds of his wife’s adultery.
The couple, who married in June 1982 and have four sons, did not attend the brief hearing under the “quickie” uncontested divorce procedure.
The singer/songwriter was 36 when he married 22-year-old society heiress Lucy Helmore at the Church of St Anthony and St George at Duncton, West Sussex.
In divorce papers before the court, Ferry said that “the respondent (his wife) has admitted the adultery”, but did not name another man.
He said he had first suspected in May 2000 and the adultery was continuing when they separated.
