National Security

Director: Dennis Dugan

Cast: Martin Lawrence, Steve Zahn, Eric Roberts, Timothy Busfield

Cert: 12

Whoever had the misguided notion that Lawrence could ever be an asset to a film?

He is the unfunniest of comics and in almost all his dismal films manages to infuriate more than entertain. This is a prime example of a witless, charmless and low-quality Lawrence offering in which he plays a would-be cop whose sole purpose in life seems to be to wage a war against all whites.

This, by the way, is supposed to be a buddy comedy for his companion is an actual LA cop (the excellent Zahn, wasting his talents) who he accuses of assault.

The depiction of racial tension is so gross and the characters so stereotyped that the film has no visable merits whatsoever.
