Fonda may appear in Barbarella remake

Drew Barrymore has asked Jane Fonda to appear in the remake of Barbarella which Barrymore will produce and star in but she has not yet had a reply, she says.

Fonda starred in the 1968 film which was based on a popular French comic strip about a sexy 41st century space adventuress and was directed by her then-husband, Roger Vadim.

Barrymore has a new version in development and wants Fonda to have a role, she tells Movieline magazine. “I told her that I’d love her to be a part of it, but she hasn’t given me an answer. So that’s not yes and it’s not no, which is great.”
