Segal stirs up a storm

Exit Wounds: Steven Seagal kicks up a storm in his usual lean, mean, fighting machine role.

He may be from the Roger Moore school of acting, but when it comes to a bit of mayhem, Steven’s your only man.

He plays hard-edged Detroit detective Orin Boyd, who likes to dish out his own particular brand of justice to the bad guys, but his maverick methods land him in hot water.

After blowing up half of Detroit trying to save the US vice-president from a terrorist attack, Boyd is transferred to 15th Precinct, where, with the help of his new commander (Jill Hennessy) and his new partner (Isaiah Washington), he uncovers a web of corruption within the police force when several kilos of heroin and cash turn up missing.

He forms an unlikely alliance with drug-dealer Latrell Walker (DMX), and the two men set about exposing the conspiracy within the police department.

As with most Seagal adventures, the threads holding the plot together run a little bare at times, but this is more than made up for by the non-stop action.
