Beckham gets Real in wild west shoot-out
David Beckham faces a shoot-out at the OK Corral as he turns cowboy in the latest Pepsi advert.
The multi-million pound commercial pits Manchester United against Real Madrid in a spoof spaghetti western.
It begins with Beckham riding into town with team-mates Juan Sebastian Veron, Gary Neville, Ryan Giggs and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The players are clad in stetsons and long leather coats â which open to reveal holsters filled with cans of Pepsi instead of pistols.
When Realâs goalkeeper Iker Casillas drinks Beckhamâs Pepsi, the Manchester United midfielder challenges him to a penalty shoot-out.
The ad is based on the 1957 classic Gunfight At the OK Corral and was filmed in Almeria, Spain â backdrop for the famous spaghetti westerns featuring Clint Eastwood.
Beckham said: âI think this is my favourite ad so far. I used to play cowboys and Indians as a boy â I was always a cowboy.â
Veron said the players had enjoyed taking a break from training to film it.
âIt was very funny, especially seeing my team-mates dressed up in these outfits,â he said.
The ad will be shown in cinemas and on TV from April when viewers will learn whether Beckham succeeds in putting the penalty past Casillas.
