Cruise wins $10m judgement against porn actor
Tom Cruise has won a $10m (€9.46m) defamation judgement against a porn actor who claimed he had a gay affair with the Mission Impossible star.
A Los Angeles judge entered the default judgment in late December after defendant Chad Slater admitted his story was false and said he would not actively defend himself against the lawsuit, Cruise’s lawyer Ricardo Cestero said.
“We don’t have any idea whether he will ever have means to pay, but we have obtained the judgment, which will hopefully make it clear that demeaning Mr Cruise will not be a successful endeavour,” he said yesterday.
Cruise, who is filming The Last Samurai in New Zealand, plans to donate any money he receives from the judgment to charity, he added.
