David Beckham immortalised in chocolate

David Beckham has been immortalised in chocolate for his Japanese fans.

The 10 foot statue is on display at a busy intersection of the fashionable Shibuya shopping district in downtown Tokyo.

It has been unveiled by a Japanese chocolate company for one of their chocolate campaigns.

The statue, made of several thousand chocolate bars, is protected in a glass case and guarded by at least two permanent security officers.

It will be on display until Christmas before being moved to a safer place.

Beckham won Japanese hearts as England captain during the World Cup in June, where he was followed by hordes of screaming fans throughout the tournament.
