Des Lynam in talks over new ITV contract
Des Lynam is in talks to sign a new contract with ITV to present The Premiership, ending speculation he is about to retire.
He is said to be "very happy" at ITV and is considering extending his contract, which expires in August next year.
The new deal is thought to include both The Premiership on Saturday nights and the Champions League on Tuesday nights.
Lynam's agent Jane Morgan said: "He is talking about it at the moment.
"He is very happy there and if he does stay on he will do both The Premiership and Uefa Champions League because that is the brand.
"He loves going in on Saturdays, he has a lot of fun with Ally McCoist and Ron Atkinson and I think everyone would agree it is a good show now."
