Daniel rages

Daniel Day-Lewis is angry at reports of his behaviour on the Gangs of New York shoot.

He's demanding to know who's been spreading rumours that his refusal to come out of character during the shoot caused problems (his character is a murderer and fixer called Bill the Butcher!).

Known as a serious actor who researches his roles to the finest detail, he maintains that his methods are what make his characters so believable: "Only the end result matters when it comes to creating a character."
