Michael Caine knows he's not the greatest actor the world has ever seen. He knows, too, that he has been in plenty of films which made turkeys look cultural ... and he views all this with a healthy disregard and a happy shrug.

"I am in so many movies that are on TV at 2am that people think I'm dead," the London-born son of a fish-market porter and a charlady says, with a grin.
