Johnny Bravo set for the big screen

Warner Brothers has bought the film rights to a cartoon series called Johnny Bravo, which WWF wrestler The Rock may star in.

Variety says it was The Rock’s passion for the Johnny Bravo cartoons that encouraged producers to approach him for the role.

Johnny Bravo, a half-hour series, is about a muscle-bound, sweet-talking ladies’ man who sounds like Elvis, loves his mother, worships himself – and continually proves to be his own worst enemy.

The Rock, aka Dwayne Johnson, made the transition to the big screen after appearing in a cameo role in action adventure The Mummy Returns.

His character was killed off, but studio bosses were so impressed with him that they cast him in the movie The Scorpion King – a Mummy prequel inspired by tales of a legendary Egyptian ruler.
