EastEnders' Roy Evans to leave

Tony Caunter, who plays Roy Evans in EastEnders, is to leave the soap.

According to a spokesman he is leaving the show by "mutual consent".

He is expected to be written out early next year.

According to the News Of The World, Caunter agreed with the show's producers that there was no more he could do with his Roy.

"It was time for me to move on" he told the paper.
