Adam Ant sentenced

Adam Ant has been placed under a 12-month community rehabilitation order following an incident in which he threatened drinkers with an imitation pistol.

The charge related to an incident at a London pub on January 12 this year when revellers were threatened after making fun of Ant's appearance.

Ant, who appeared under his real name of Stuart Goddard, had pleaded guilty to one charge of affray.

Old Bailey Judge Jeremy Roberts made the Community Rehabilitation Order after saying he accepted the singer had suffered a "temporary episode" of mental illness.

The 48-year-old from Primrose Hill, north London, kept his eyes closed through most of the hearing.

A handful of fans watched from the public gallery as he was sentenced.
