Weller album tops UK charts

Paul Weller’s latest album, Illumination, has gone straight in at number one in the UK's album charts.

The sixth solo offering by the former leader of The Jam and the Style Council has displaced girl band Atomic Kitten’s Feels So Good album.

The Kittens slip to number three behind Coldplay’s A Rush of Blood to the Head, which retains its number two slot.

Atomic Kitten were also toppled in the singles chart, with The Tide is High (Get the Feeling) being knocked down to number two by girl rocker Pink, who comes straight in at number one with Just Like a Pill.

Numbers three, four and five are all new entries - by Busted, Eminem and Bon Jovi.
