Winona Ryder shoplifting case adjourned
The shoplifting case against Hollywood actress Winona Ryder will return to court next week when pre-trial motions will be heard.
Her trial is then expected to begin within 30 days of the next hearing, which takes place on September 12.
Today, following a meeting in chambers with Ryder’s lawyer Mark Geragos and prosecutor Ann Rundle, Judge Elden Fox said the case would continue on September 12 for a hearing on pre-trial motions.
Ryder, who did not appear at the Beverly Hills Court today, denies shoplifting from an exclusive store.
She was arrested last December for allegedly stealing about £3,500 (€5,526) worth of clothing and accessories from Saks Fifth Avenue in Beverly Hills.
The 30-year-old has pleaded not guilty to charges of second-degree burglary, grand theft, vandalism and possession of a controlled substance.
