Police foil break-in at Hurley offices
Police were called to an attempted burglary at the offices of Liz Hurley’s film production company, it emerged today.
The basement door of the premises of Simian Films in Chelsea, west London, which is co-owned by her former boyfriend Hugh Grant, was broken into but police do not believe anything was stolen.
A Scotland Yard spokesman said: “We were called to an attempted burglary at business premises late in the evening of August 30 in SW7.
“Officers found that the basement door had been broken into. It is not believed any property was taken.”
The 37-year-old actress, whose films include Austin Powers and Bedazzled, was attacked by a gang of girl muggers in the same area in 1994.
In a recent interview with Woman’s Own magazine, the star criticised the lack of uniformed officers on the streets and called for a stronger police presence.
