A young woman was last night fighting for her life in hospital following a devastating car crash in Skibbereen, Co Cork, which left 22-year-old local woman Meg Johnston dead.

Singer Art Garfunkel has been fined $200 (€156) in upstate New York after pleading guilty to marijuana possession.

Art Garfunkel, part of the folk music duo Simon and Garfunkel, was charged with marijuana possession after police pulled his limousine over for speeding in upstate New York.

Police were called to an attempted burglary at the offices of Liz Hurley’s film production company, it emerged today.
