Dirty Harry creator passes away
Screenwriter Dean Reisner, creator of Dirty Harry and The Enforcer, has died aged 83.
The New Yorker, who first made his name as an actor in a 1920s Charlie Chaplin film, died of natural causes at his home.
"He was able to bring an economy of language and make scenes come alive," director and long-time friend Sean Cunningham said.
"He left room for the actors and the director to function, but he always drove the story forward."
Riesner’s first film starring Eastwood was the 1968 detective drama Coogan’s Bluff.
He also worked with the actor on the films Play Misty for Me and Dirty Harry.
