EastEnders baddie to leave

Alex Ferns is leaving EastEnders later this year.

The actor, who plays Trevor Morgan says the character can't be taken any further.

Trevor became the soap's biggest villain as he terrorised and raped his wife Little Mo.

Alex told The Sun: "I'll be leaving EastEnders within the year. I don't want to say why. It's not my choice, but it's gone the way I want it.

"It is good that Trevor is leaving, because you can only take a character like this so far."

Alex was named Best Newcomer and Best Villain at this year's British Soap Awards.

EastEnders executive producer Louise Berridge said: "Trevor is one of the best villains we've ever had. But he is due his comeuppance, so Alex will be leaving the show later this year."
