Simon denies Garfunkel reunion rumours

Paul Simon has strongly denied rumours he is to hold a reunion with Art Garfunkel.

He said they are no longer in touch.

There have been many rumours of a reunion since the 1980s, but both have denied them.

Speaking to German magazine Bunte, Simon said: "The Simon and Garfunkel era is over. We are not in contact with each other any more because there is nothing to say to each other.

"Since we split in 1971 we have tried numerous times to perform together again, but it didn't lead to anything good. We both have different personal and musical views that just can not be reconciled."

He added: "We may have made a good match as high-school boys, but not as men."

Despite current differences, the duo had a successful music career lasting 14 years.

But they went their separate ways in the early '70s when Art turned his hand to acting and Paul concentrated on a solo music career.
