Julia's ex says he hated attention
Julia Roberts' ex-boyfriend Benjamin Bratt says he hated the constant attention he received when he dated her.
He says can't believe that extreme level of fame could appeal to anyone.
Bratt broke up with the Erin Brockovich actress following a four-year romance.
"It's like a fly that won't leave you alone. It's that mosquito that buzzes in your ear when you're trying to sleep at night," he told Vanity Fair.
"You turn the light off and it comes back again. It's constant and ever present and it disrupts any chance of peace."
Even Roberts did not enjoy living with that magnitude of attention, he said.
"When you live your life at that level of fame it gets beyond your control. By the time you realise it, you're stuck."
Bratt shot to fame in the US starring in police drama Law and Order.
Since his break-up with Roberts, he has married model Talisa Soto and the couple are now expecting their first child.
He told the magazine: "Talisa's not the kind of woman that you just date. If she's available, you grab her and hold on. She makes me fearless."
