Harrelson pays up and avoids taxi damage charge

Actor Woody Harrelson will not face charges for allegedly damaging a taxi after he paid the cab driver for the repairs, it emerged today.

The Natural Born Killers star was arrested earlier this month after reportedly going ‘‘berserk’’ on a night out in London.

Black cab driver Les Dartnell withdrew his complaint on Friday after the actor handed over stg£542.96 (€839.55).

Harrelson had been due to answer bail today but a Scotland Yard spokeswoman confirmed that police would take no further action.

The 40-year-old whose next film is called Anger Management allegedly went on the rampage outside the Chinawhite club on June 6.

He was said to have kicked the cab, smashing a doorlock and ashtray, before running off.

Harrelson is in the capital to rehearse for the upcoming West End play On An Average Day, in which he stars alongside Sex And The City star Kyle MacLachlan.
