Britney Spears to open US bistro

Britney Spears is to open an American-style bistro in Manhattan.

It will be called Nyla, after initials taken from her new home New York and home state Louisiana.

It is scheduled to open in May.

The restaurant will occupy space in the city's Dylan Hotel.

One of Britney's business partners Morris Moinian said: "Right now we have the ultimate celebrity associated as a partner with the restaurant, and that is what the consumer wants."

Another partner Bobby Ochs added: "The concept is going to be an American brasserie, where we are going to take on several personalities. At 11pm, we're going to convert it into a sophisticated late-night lounge."
